beauty is considered together with its colour, clarity, cut, treatment status,
recommended weight and price—then explained clearly before you choose.
1. An Ancient Standard of Beauty
The Bṛhatsaṃhitā describes the
qualities admired in a fine diamond:
सर्वद्रव्याभेद्यं
लघ्वम्भसि तरति रश्मिवत्स्निग्धम् ।
तडिदनलशक्रचापोपमं च वज्रं हितायोक्तम् ॥ ७९.१४॥
Sarvadravyābhedyaṃ laghvambhasi tarati
raśmivatsnigdham;
taḍidanalaśakracāpopamaṃ ca vajraṃ hitāyoktam.
“Hard, smooth and radiant—resembling
lightning, fire or the rainbow—a diamond of these qualities is considered
auspicious.”

The verse values strength, smoothness and
living brilliance—not size alone. Moraebi looks for the same balance within the
diamond being considered and within the price at which it is offered.
2. The Astrological Standard for Diamond
The Bṛhatsaṃhitā gives a separate
warning specifically for diamonds:
काकपदमक्षिकाकेशधातुयुक्तानि
शर्करैर्विद्धम् ।
द्विगुणाश्रि दग्धकलुषत्रस्तविशीर्णानि न शुभानि ॥ ७९.१५॥
Kākapadam akṣikākeśadhātuyuktāni
śarkarair viddham;
dviguṇāśri dagdhakaluṣatrastaviśīrṇāni na śubhāni.
“Diamonds marked like a crow’s foot, fly
or hair; containing other mineral matter; pitted, dull, unsteady in light,
split or broken are not considered suitable.”

The ancient description distinguishes a
naturally included diamond from one that is visibly damaged, fractured or
weakened.
Natural diamonds may contain tiny
crystals, clouds, feathers, needles or traces of their growth deep within the
earth. These are like the diamond’s birthmarks. Laboratories study these
characteristics alongside advanced testing to establish natural origin,
identify treatments and distinguish natural diamonds from laboratory-grown
diamonds.
Moraebi accepts natural inclusions. We
avoid diamonds with significant surface-reaching fractures, open cavities,
vulnerable corners, extremely thin girdles or inclusions positioned where they
could weaken a jewel intended for continuous wear.
3. The Brilliance Must Be Natural. Never Treated.
Natural diamonds occur across a range of
colour and clarity grades. The appropriate diamond is not automatically the
whitest or most flawless—it is one whose brilliance, proportions and natural
character remain attractive in ordinary light.
Diamonds in the wider market may be laser
drilled or fracture filled to make inclusions less visible. HPHT processing,
irradiation, annealing and surface coating may be used to alter colour.
An untreated natural diamond may show
more visible inclusions or gentle body colour than an enhanced diamond offered
at a similar price. Moraebi selects only natural diamonds with no evidence
of treatment.
For astrological jewellery, we never
replace a prescribed natural diamond with a laboratory-grown diamond, cubic
zirconia, moissanite or another colourless stone. If your astrologer has
prescribed a different gemstone as a substitute, we follow that recommendation
without changing it ourselves.
A laboratory-grown diamond has diamond’s
chemical composition, but it was created in a manufacturing environment rather
than formed within the earth. Cubic zirconia and moissanite are different
materials altogether.
Every Moraebi diamond is sourced
through a trusted supplier and accompanied by a GIA or IGI certificate. The report belongs to the exact diamond you receive and confirms
whether it is natural while recording its colour, clarity, cut, carat weight
and any detected treatment.
4. From an Earth-Formed Diamond to Your Jewel, Crafted in
Jaipur
Moraebi sources only natural, untreated
diamonds from trusted suppliers. Every diamond enters our collection with its
own GIA or IGI certificate.
We read the report alongside the diamond
itself. The certificate establishes identity and grades; our selection
considers how the diamond actually looks, how its inclusions are positioned and
whether its structure is suitable for continuous wear.
The aim is not simply to choose the
largest diamond available within a budget. Its cut must bring forward natural
brilliance, its inclusions must be honestly described, and its structure must
be appropriate for the purpose for which it has been chosen.
The diamond is then designed into
jewellery in Jaipur. Moraebi’s protective settings are crafted to hold it
securely for continuous wear while preserving its light.
Diamond strongly resists scratching, but
it can still chip if struck sharply along a vulnerable edge or natural cleavage
direction. Its setting should therefore be inspected periodically.
Careful cleaning and inspection of your

Untreated
It is the hardest natural material, but hardness does not mean that it cannot be damaged.
Diamond strongly resists scratching, yet a sharp blow in the wrong direction can chip or split it because of its cleavage.
For astrological jewellery, diamond may be recommended according to its natural identity, weight, colour, clarity, metal and contact with the skin.
Moraebi follows the recommendation you bring; we do not prescribe diamond or promise an astrological outcome.
Most diamonds contain some degree of yellow or brown body colour.
Truly colourless diamonds are rare.
The internationally recognised D-to-Z colour scale begins with D, representing colourless, and moves through increasing amounts of visible colour.
Diamonds can also occur naturally in distinct fancy colours such as yellow, pink, blue and green, which are evaluated differently.
For astrological jewellery, the recommendation may specify a white or colourless diamond.
Moraebi helps you understand how much colour is visible in the actual stone rather than treating every “white diamond” as identical.
Most natural diamonds contain internal features known as inclusions and external features known as blemishes.
Diamond inclusions may include:
● Tiny crystals
● Pinpoints
● Clouds
● Needles
● Feathers
● Twinning wisps
● Internal graining
● Small cavities or knots
These are the diamond’s birthmarks.
They developed during its formation or journey to the earth’s surface and help gemologists identify and map the individual stone.
No two diamonds have precisely the same inclusion pattern.
This internal map can help confirm that the diamond being shown matches its grading report.
A small crystal or feather safely enclosed within the diamond may present no practical concern.
Greater attention is required when a diamond has:
● A large feather reaching the surface
● A cavity or knot in a vulnerable position
● A fracture close to a corner or girdle
● A chip or bruise caused by impact
● Extensive inclusions affecting transparency
● A clarity characteristic that may weaken the stone
● Evidence of fracture filling or laser drilling
GIA considers the size, number, position, nature and visibility of clarity characteristics when assigning a clarity grade.
Some astrological traditions also avoid heavily included diamonds, prominent dark inclusions, cavities, cracks or damaged stones.
These are traditional suitability standards—not scientifically established measures of astrological effect.
Moraebi considers both the grading report and the physical position of the inclusions before selecting a diamond for continuous wear.
The GIA scale includes:
● FL — Flawless
● IF — Internally Flawless
● VVS1 and VVS2 — Very, Very Slightly Included
● VS1 and VS2 — Very Slightly Included
● SI1 and SI2 — Slightly Included
● I1, I2 and I3 — Included
A higher clarity grade means the diamond is rarer, not necessarily that it will look dramatically more beautiful without magnification.
For Moraebi, the question is not simply “What is the highest clarity?”
It is whether the inclusions are honestly graded, visually acceptable and safely positioned for the jewel the diamond will accompany.
A natural diamond formed within the earth.
A laboratory-grown diamond was produced through technological processes that recreate diamond-forming conditions. It has essentially the same crystal structure and fundamental material properties as natural diamond, but it has a different origin and commercial value.
A diamond simulant, such as cubic zirconia or moissanite, is not diamond.
It may resemble diamond visually but is a different material.
These distinctions cannot always be made reliably by appearance.
Advanced laboratory testing is required.
Moraebi selects certified natural diamonds for astrological jewellery and does not use “real diamond” as an intentionally vague description.
A natural diamond may be treated to alter its apparent colour or clarity.
Treatments include:
Laser drilling
A microscopic channel is created to reach a dark inclusion, which may then be bleached to make it less visible.
Fracture filling
A glass-like material is placed inside a surface-reaching fracture to reduce its visibility.
HPHT processing
High pressure and high temperature are used to alter the diamond’s colour.
Irradiation and heating
These processes may produce or modify colour.
Coating
A thin surface layer changes the apparent colour.
A treated diamond may still be a natural diamond, but it is not untreated.
Treatment can materially affect value and, in the case of fracture filling or coating, durability and care.

If a similar-looking stone is offered at an unusually low price, it may be:
● Laboratory-grown
● Fracture-filled
● Laser-drilled
● Colour-treated
● Moissanite
● Cubic zirconia
● Glass or another imitation
● Accompanied by an unreliable or mismatched report
The distinction may not be visible in a photograph.
Always verify the report number and ensure that its measurements, inscription and characteristics correspond to the actual diamond.
A lower-priced natural diamond is entirely possible.
It may have a warmer colour, lower clarity, smaller size or less precise cut.
Moraebi explains that difference rather than allowing price alone to create suspicion or false expectation.
Carat records weight.
Colour describes the amount of visible body colour.
Clarity records the relative presence of inclusions and blemishes.
Cut describes how effectively a standard round brilliant diamond’s proportions and finish return light.
The 4Cs do not operate independently.
A larger diamond may appear less lively if poorly cut.
A very high clarity grade may add considerable cost without producing a visible difference to the unaided eye.

Price per carat also rises at significant weight thresholds.
A diamond weighing just above a commercially important size may cost disproportionately more than one slightly below it.
Moraebi explains where the price is going. You can decide whether you prefer greater size, higher colour, cleaner clarity or a more precise cut.
A standard grading report does not normally determine where a polished diamond was mined.
A country-of-origin report requires the rough diamond to enter a documented programme before cutting so that the polished stone can later be matched to it.
Origin cannot be determined simply by examining colour, clarity or inclusions in an already polished diamond.
If provenance or source traceability is important to your purchase, it must be supported by appropriate documentation—not a verbal country claim.
A diamond does not need to be flawless to be natural, beautiful or secure.
Many inclusions are visible only under magnification and have no meaningful effect on everyday appearance.
However, a heavily included diamond with a vulnerable surface-reaching feather, cavity or existing chip requires more caution.

A standard report does not grade astrological suitability or promise an outcome.
It provides the identity and quality information needed for an informed decision.
Diamond is exceptionally well suited to continuous wear.
It measures 10 on the Mohs hardness scale and strongly resists scratching. However, diamond has cleavage and can chip if struck sharply at a vulnerable edge or corner.
